Well winter is on its way :) which alsways means lots of snow and dangerous road conditions... Automatic Tire Chains are one way to help minimize the danger.
When I was in kindergarden I rode bus 119, a short Thomas International with a manuel transmission, and atutomatic tire chains. Automatic Tire Chains consist of chains that hang below the bus attched to wheels. When engaged, the wheels rotate down and make contact with the Bus's tires. The the chains are thrown under the tire at a syncronized speed. 172 later replaced 119.

My New Bus
Well we finally got rid of old 170 with the broken transmission and got a "real bus"... 156 a 2005 Thomas Freighliner with a mercedes MBE 900 engine. I do miss the digital video system, and the wide entrance door... but overall I believe it is a much nicer bus.

New Buses!!!!
3 new full size buses and 1 short handicap bus came in today. :) The 3 full size buses all have undercarriage storage, tinted windows, and Maxforce engines. Overall I am impressed alot more with these IC CE300's than the old IC CE 200's that we got in 2005. These buses do not currently have a camera system installed... but I would have to guess they will get the same 2 camera digital video system that they have been implementing.

New Buses Predictions
Well from the word on the street this years new buses should be (3) 2009 IC CE300's with the Maxforce Engine and Undercarriage Storage. For some reason the school districts in the area have been very intent on working the IC's into there fleets. I personally am not a fan of the CE's but from what I hear this years model is a significant improvement over the old CE 200's that we purchased in 2005. That would be 166-174 (excluding 172... the last FS-65 in the Fleet) This years should be 190-192 full size. And 189 Handicap, also a CE. More will come when i get more information.
